Furniture using mashed potato and jelly
"Designer Gavin Keightley used foods including mashed potato and jelly to create moulds for this furniture collection, which is cast from Jesmonite dyed in fluorescent hues.
The furniture collection, comprising two cabinets and a series of stools, features components made from plaster and Jesmonite that were cast in moulds fabricated from different foods.
University of Plymouth graduate Keightley told Dezeen that, throughout his studies, he enjoyed exploring alternative applications for materials and processes." Dezeen
What to see during Dutch Design Week 2019 by This is Mold
"Dutch Design Week kicks off on the 19th October in Eindhoven and in keeping with their history of Design Academy Eindhoven graduating some of the most poetic designers working today, the presentations this year continue to explore the borders of possibility for design. We’ve combed through over 450 events to call out some of the most interesting food design projects to explore during this year’s festivities."
Interactive food containers
"Metal mittens, plates made from spoons and foraged clay bowls are among more than 500 pieces of cutlery and crockery created for the latest in a series of Experimental Gastronomy banquets. Created by Dutch duo Martin Kullik and Jouw Wijnsma, the dining concept hopes to decelerate the eating process and help us engage with food in a new way. To do so, the pair commissioned a series of designers, artists and craftspeople to create non-traditional tableware for a series of culinary occasions." Dezeen
